Tommy’s World Slideshow
Words and Music
By: Derek Welsh
It was late December in the coldest war
There stood a child who was locked inside a world
His only friend was darkness
Because he never knew what it was like
To see the world outside the world through his clouded eyes
Try to paint a picture with only black and white
And you’ll know how it feels
To be lost in the tears of a blind boy
Think about Tommy who will never see his home
He’s hoping for an answer that has waited much too long
If all it takes is money tell me what are waiting for
Think about Tommy, Think about him in his world
White canes of sorrow, the symbols of a troubled land
With millions in the wake of destruction who get by the best they can
We never find the time to love them, just turn our backs and walk away
Lord it ain’t a pretty picture here today
And are we giving up without a fight
When we know there’s a cure
You’ve got to remember that blind boy
Think about Tommy who will never see his home
He’s hoping for an answer that has waited much too long
If all it takes is money tell me what are waiting for
Think about Tommy, think about him in his world
And if you’re giving up without a fight
When we know there’s a cure
You’ve got to remember that blind boy
Think about Tommy
Think about him and his world
